Richard "Dick" Higgins

Richard “Dick” Higgins 83 died at home Friday October 14, 2016. He was born July 21, 1933 in Ross County to Charles and Agusta Knisley Higgins.

Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joann Simmons Higgins; two sons, Mike (Brenda) Higgins of Greenfield and Danny (Pat) Higgins of Chillicothe; daughter, Missy Skaggs of Bainbridge; three grandchildren, Danielle Higgins of Washington CH and Cydnee and Colton Skaggs of Bainbridge; sister, Brenda Everhart of Bainbridge; sister-in-law, Jean Higgins of Washington CH and a special friend, Jim Mettler, Sr.

He retired from the Mead Paper Mill after 41 years and was a member of USW Local 731. He was a member of the Bainbridge Lodge 196 of Free and Accepted Masons and a lifelong member of the Bainbridge Church of Christ.

Graveside services will be held 1 pm Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Bainbridge Cemetery with Steve Alexander officiating. No calling hours will be observed.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice 2077 Western Ave Chillicothe or the Paxton Area Life Squad Box 614 Bainbridge.
