Richard A Watson

Richard A. Watson, 87, of Greenfield, died at 4:37 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 5, 1930 in Franklin County, the son of the late Millard and Florence Ginn Watson. On August 26, 1967 he married the former Dorothy M. Hester who preceded him in death on July 30, 2004.

Survivors include, his children; Richard L. Watson, of Greenfield, Robert Hester of East Monroe, Sue Hughes of Waverly, Cindy McWhorter of Chillicothe and Clem Pummell of Greenfield, twenty-six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by one son; Gary W. Watson, one brother; Millard Watson, Jr, two sisters; Janet Hardy and Doris Snyder.

Richard worked as a truck driver for Murphy Freight for several years and was a member of Teamsters Local 309. He attended Trinity Christian Union Church.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit with Richard’s family on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
