Robert Bradshaw Dupont, of North Pole, Alaska, was born January 2, 1945, in St Paul, Minnesota to Katherine Bradshaw Dupont and Horace King Dupont. Robert died at home in on August 4, 2013 in North Pole, AK from cancer.
After graduating high school in Forest Lake, MN, Bob joined the US Army, serving in Korea and Oklahoma. He served a tour in Vietnam from 1970-1971 with the US Air Force and then returned to Asia to serve again in Thailand.
While cross training at Lowry AFB in Denver, Bob met his wife, Susan Elaine Ebright, in 1974. After only knowing each other for a few short weeks, they married in Greenfield, OH in April and celebrated 39 years of marriage this year.
In 1976 the joy of their life, Wendy Sue, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and she completed their family.
In 1982, Bob was assigned to Shemya AFB in the Aleutians, and then was re-assigned to Eielson AFB, where he, Susan and Wendy made their home in North Pole. In 1989 Bob retired from the Air Force and spent the next few years as a Teamster, traveling to numerous sites around Alaska. After realizing being gone from Susan and Wendy was not what he wanted to do in his life, he started working Civil Service on Ft Wainwright, and retired in 2007.
In 2003, Robert's namesake, Seth Robert Rupe was born to Wendy and Jeremy Rupe. Susan retired in July 2012 and they were finally able to enjoy retirement together. It had been Bob's life long dream to travel the back roads of the Lower 48 in his new motorhome, visiting the many old friends that his years of military service had given him. Friends and family will greatly miss Bob's generosity of spirit and love of life.
Robert is survived by his wife Susan, their daughter Wendy (Marty Huesties Jr.), grandson Seth Robert Rupe, siblings Virginia (Gary) LaBore, Walter (Cathy) Dupont, Richard Dupont, and Dorace (Dennis) Bradford, many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
