Robert W. "BUD" Lewis 65, of Chillicothe passed away 12:50 am on October 13, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 18, 1948 in Bainbridge to Orville and Margaret Everhart Lewis. On October 10, 1969 he married his sweetheart, the former Sharon A. Knisley.
For many years Bud was a truck driver for Davis Lumber Co. and also served as a police officer for the Village of Bainbridge. He enjoyed fishing and had a love for tractor pulling, winning many awards. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; his children, Toni (Josh) Taylor, Jacque (Bryan Mitchell) Lewis, Christopher and Bradley Lewis; his grandchildren, Zachary and Kristin Taylor; a great granddaughter, Addyson Mitchell; step granddaughter, Ashley Mitchell and her children, Benjamin and Hailey VanGundy; brother, Jack (Sherry) Lewis; sisters, Sue (Ted) Lightner, Macie (Daniel) Knisley, Mary Ellen (Steve) Sanford; many nieces, nephews, best friends, Steven (Bertha) Lytle and his constant canine companion, Sugar.
Bud was predeceased by his parents; brother, Bobby; sister, Dorothy Johnson; niece, Deanna Darling and his nephew and buddy, Robert A. "Robbie" Lewis.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Rev. Randy Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
