On Friday, January 1, 2016, Rosemary Knisley finished her struggle against cancer. God, in His mercy, saw that she had had enough of the pain, medicines and debilitation and took her home.

Rosemary was born on February 12, 1948 to the late Charles Grant and Mary Alice (Morris) Elliott. On January 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Rodney Knisley, who survives.

She is also survived by three loving children, daughters Tabatha (Danny) Tong of Latham, Anya (Chad) Brooks of Peebles and son, Brandon (Kelly) Knisley of Peebles; six grandchildren, Zachary Knisley, Kabree Tong, Layne Brooks, Sarah, Jimmie and Nathan Frazier; three great grandchildren, Isaac, Gabe and Sadie Mae. Also surviving are two sisters, Nina (Rick Knisley) Elliott of Peebles and Marvetta (Dean) South of Waynesville, MO; two brothers, Chad and Shane Elliott both of Hillsboro; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and her close friends Tobie and Charlitt Newell and Janet Smith.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her baby brother, Denny Elliott.

Rosemary was an avid bowler in her youth and she participated in several leagues. She was also the owner of the Valley Carry Out in Latham for 28 years. Rosemary had a deep rooted love of the Smoky Mountains where she and Rodney, along with their children, would often visit.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Reverends Marlyn Davis and Bob King officiating. Burial will follow in the Lapperell Cemetery. Friends may visit with Rosemary's Family from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
