Ruby Caroline Colburn

Ruby C. Colburn, 89, of Chillicothe, died at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born on January 26, 1923 the daughter of the late Holace and Orphia Havens Dyke. On November 6, 1940 she married Douglas Colburn and he proceeded her in death on September 20, 1998.

Surviving are her children; Doug (Sherry) Colburn, Nancy (Charles) Downs both of Chillicothe, Jerry (Connie) Colburn of Gallipolis, Tim (Carla) Colburn of Chillicothe, step daughter; Emma Jean Haycook of Grove City, son-in-law; Orlan Edgington of Chillicothe, 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, sisters; Dale Alberta Colburn, Pearl Spangler both of Clarksburg, brother; Floyd Dyke of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by one daughter; Shirley Edgington, one granddaughter, one sister; Geraldine Houser, four brothers; Leo, Paul, Walter, and Gale Dyke.

Ruby had worked several years as a nursing assistant. She was a member at the Landmark Christian Church where she was involved in the Lady's Mission Circle.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with her son, Jerry Colburn and grandson Kevin Edgington officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
