Russel A. Morgan

Russel A. Morgan, 78, of Frankfort, died at 6:14 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1935 in Ross County the son of the late Leslie A. and Ruth A. Leedom Morgan. On November 13, 1959 he married the former Betty J. Smart and she survives.

Also surviving are two children, Cathy (Richard) Wheeler and David (Jill) Morgan, both of Frankfort, five grandchildren, Brittany Green, Jessica Brown, Jordan Wheeler, Allison and Joshua Morgan, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Jane Hester of Frankfort, sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Morgan of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Richard) Bonner, and one brother, George Morgan.

Russel was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School. He was a United States Army veteran and a thirty three year member of the Joseph Ellsworth White American Legion Post 483, where he served several years on the honor guard. Russel was a grocer for many years in Frankfort where he was co-owner of the Frankfort Cardinal Market with his brother George Morgan. Just the day of his passing, Russel talked of the day when his father was on his route with his Huckster truck and when his mother ran the store in Greenland. He also enjoyed spending time woodworking in his workshop.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Rev. Robert Getty and Todd Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort where military honors will be accorded by the Joseph Ellsworth White American Legion Post 483. Friends can visit with the Morgan family at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m..
