Ruth "Bootie" Davis

Ruth “Bootie” Davis passed peacefully in her Bainbridge home December 16, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 29, 1923, to John and Rose (Beatty) McMullen.

She married Louis “Cheese” Davis in 1940 and together they raised 5 children. She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband in his business. She loved shopping, traveling, cooking, game shows, and the Cincinnati Reds.

Bootie leaves behind sons, Gary Davis, Gale (Nancy) Davis, Neil Davis, and her daughter, Cathy (Bruce) Felstein, all of Bainbridge; sisters-in-law Irene (Samuel) Borst and Ruth Newland; and 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Curtis, brothers Guy and Lawrence McMullen, sisters Dorothy Henderson, Mary Yoakum, and Mildred Ebright, and daughters-in-law Debbie Hatmaker Davis, Ann Benner Davis, Shirley Cross Davis and Debra Dunn Davis.  

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home in Bainbridge on Thursday, December 22 from  6 to 8 pm to share memories of this wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was so loved and will be so missed. In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions to Adena Hospice.
