With great sadness, we announce that Ryan Levi Rittenhouse, of Ashville, Ohio unexpectedly passed away on March 5, 2023, at 33 years of age. He was born on June 6, 1989, in Chillicothe to Steve Rittenhouse and Angela Pridemore. He grew up in the small town of Frankfort. Growing up he loved to skateboard and play guitar. He always enjoyed being on his family's farm in Pike County and playing pranks on his friends, but even more so his two brothers, Ethan and Zak. Levi was a 2007 graduate of Adena High School and 2011 graduate of the Motorcycle Mechanics' Institute in Orlando, Florida.
Levi was employed by Byrnes & Jones Construction and was excited to have earned his CDL license recently. He had a passion for his job there (as a compaction engineer) and would tell you about it every chance he got. Levi loved Jesus, the outdoors, fishing, kayaking, swimming and just grilling out on a beautiful sunny day. His family and friends that knew him best, say he could weave a tale (like the decades old Dave story) and entertain a room with the best of his worst corny "Dad" jokes. Levi loved his children unconditionally forever and ever, without end.
Levi is survived by his father, Steve (Kim) Rittenhouse, of Frankfort; mother, Angela (Chris) Pridemore, of Chillicothe; grandmother, Norma Pridemore, of Louisville, KY; grandmother, Carol (Bill) Elliott, of Chillicothe; and grandfather John Downs, of Port Orange, FL. He is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Ronnia Parsley, of Ashville, and their children, Anneliese and one expected in October of this year; and his son, Ryan Hunter Rittenhouse; brothers Ethan (Jessica) Rittenhouse, of Londonderry; Zak Rittenhouse of Minneapolis, MN; Paul (Jessica) Brown, Clarksburg; sisters Sara (John) Rolfe, Frankfort; Laura Brown, Denver, CO.
Levi dearly loved his nieces and nephews: Hudson Rittenhouse, Austin Knapp, Reid Brown, Kelsea Brown, Kohwen Brown, Ledger Rolfe, Vance Rolfe, and Grace Rolfe. He also loved and was loved by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Levi was preceded in death by grandparents Ralph and Joyce Rittenhouse of Frankfort; grandfather Ray Evans, of Piketon; grandfather Ralph Pridemore, of Louisville, KY; great grandparents Kittie and Chauncey Overly of Good Hope, and Wilbur and Pauline Elliott of Waverly.
Levi was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 483 in Frankfort.
A funeral service for Levi will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1pm in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Corey Sword officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg with the Sons of the American Legion conducting the service. Family and friends can visit with Levi's family on Saturday from 11am until the time of the funeral service.
