Samuel Ray Whitley

Samuel Ray Whitley 86 of Bainbridge died 1:45 pm Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1924in Morgan County, KY to the late Doney and Mary Ellen Williams Whitley. On December 11, 1946 he married the former Sarah Catherine Carter, who survives.



In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Teri (Curtis) Howell of Morrow, Orpha Mae (Jack) Forgacs of Cincinnati and Sandra Rae Collett of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Allen, Christy, Cathy, Terry, Josh, Joseph and Samuel; ten great grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, Anthony, Logan, Rachel, Terry, Haley, Kara, Chris and Elizabeth and two great great grandchildren, Devin and Kaylynn.



Sam was predeceased by 2 grandsons, James and Bobby; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.



A memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT funeral home of Bainbridge with Speaker Brian Mowrey officiating. Interment will follow in the South Salem Cemetery. There will be no calling hours observed.
