Sara K. Martin

Sara K. Martin, 57, of Chillicothe, died at 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Thursday, November 3, 1966, in Chillicothe, a daughter of the late John P. and Sarah Karleen Pleasant Martin II. 

Sara is survived by her siblings, Jennifer (Pete) Walker of Sunbury, Mike J. (Mary) Martin of Madison Heights VA, Joe (Vanessa) Martin of Newark, sister-in-law, Gail Martin of TX, special sister-in-law, Brenda K. Martin of Chillicothe and the Miller family who helped to care for Sara, twelve nieces and nephews, multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, John Martin III, Janice Arthurs, Dana Martin, one nephew, and a great-niece. 

Sara graduated from the Pioneer Center in 1988 where she was a cheerleader and in the school choir. She retired from working in assembly at First Capital Enterprises in 2019. She attended Frankfort United Methodist Church in her early years, later attending Brookside Church where she served in the choir. She found much joy being in the Christmas and Easter dramas and from the fellowship of the other choir members. She loved attending social activities and dances at Pioneer Center, First Capital and Easter Seals. She greatly enjoyed family dinners, game nights, and vacations from the east coast to the west coast and Michigan to Florida. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Adena Hospice for their support and care for Sara over the last six months.

A funeral service for Sara will be held at 1pm on Monday, October 28, 2024, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, with Pastors Dan Bennett and Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends are invited to visit with Sara's family on Monday from 11am until the time of service.
