Shari L. Hyer Spetnagel

Shari L. Hyer Spetnagel, 71 of Frankfort, died on Monday evening, April 11, 2022, at her home. She was born on Sunday, December 3, 1950, in Greenfield, the daughter of the late Dean T. and Gari L. Norton Hyer. She is survived by her husband, David Spetnagel, whom she married on February 28, 1981.

She is survived by one daughter, Lauren P. Spetnagel of Lexington, KY, her mother-in-law, Eileen Spetnagel of Chillicothe, one sister, Evalena L. Stotridge of Chillicothe and one brother, Thomas N. Hyer of Frankfort. 

Shari was a 1969 graduate of Adena High School. She worked at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center for forty-one years, starting as a mail room clerk and retired as a Human Resources Specialist. Shari had many hobbies and interests which included reading books, playing cards and darts, tending her flowers, motorcycle riding, music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and “glamping”. She enjoyed Pepsi, Strawberry Daquiris and a Tequila Sunrise if it was made well. She loved going to the beach, didn’t matter which one as long as there was sand and saltwater. 

Friends and family are asked to attend a graveside service on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Pastor Dan Bennett, one of her high school classmates will officiate. In keeping with her wishes, no visitation will be held.  A celebration of Shari’s life will be held at the Chillicothe Elks Lodge on Saturday, April 23, 2022, beginning at 3 p.m. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in her name to the James Cancer Hospital, 460 W.
