Silas Deaton, 87, of Frankfort, died at 1:13 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his home. He was born at Wolfcoal, KY on January 17, 1927, the son of the late Floyd and Sally May Deaton. He married Lorene West on August 12, 1948 and she survives.
Also surviving are one son; James E. Deaton of Frankfort, one daughter; Norma Jean Stout of Chillicothe, three grandsons; Jeff Marks, Jeremy Marks and James Silas Deaton and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Marie, who was seven years old at her death, four sisters and six brothers.
Silas proudly served his country during World War II in the US Army. He was a retired Production Manager at the Budd Company in Frankfort. He was a member of the Chillicothe First Church of God, a Fifty year member of the Scott Lodge #120 - Free and Accepted Masons of Indiana and a Life member of the Scottsburg, Indiana Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Silas loved the Buckeyes but he was compassionate about his Wildcats.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Matt Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort with military honors accorded by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
