Stanley R. Shoemaker was born April 3, 1950 and passed from this life February 26, 2016. He was a graduate of South Eastern High School in 1968. He then moved to Columbus, Ohio and began working at General Motors, where he retired as a skilled tradesman after transferring to Shreveport, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Lucy Shoemaker, Eldon and Etta Waterman, his father, Ralph Junior Shoemaker, his mother, Helen Williams, his wife, Barbara Shoemaker, and his first wife, Luella Shoemaker.
He leaves behind his children, Danelle Shoemaker, David Shoemaker, Dean (Peggy), and Darin (Wendy), step-sons, Bob and Art Hawkins; his grandchildren: Nick, Codie, Miranda, Jake, Brianna, Jessie, Jessica, Bethany, Hunter, Daniel, Jacob, Aaron, Cassie, Daryn, Kira, Krista, Madison, and Jace; his sisters, Louelle(Deb), Louetta (Mark); brother, John (Susie); several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by special friends, Phil (Carol) Spinosi, Terry (Nancy) Moore, and Raynes (Sandi) Rozzelle, Ed (Kris) Billing.
He loved his Mustangs and was active in the Mustang Club in Shreveport, Lousiana. While in Shreveport, he had several special friends including Danny Mladan, Tim Rutherford, Barbara (James) Calaway and their children, Tyler, Paige, and David. The last few years of his life, Stan loved to spend time on his boat fishing when he was not designing and remodeling his home.
A memorial service will be held at Bainbridge Church of Christ on Sunday, February 28th at 1:00pm. No calling hours will be observed.
