Steven Core

Steven "Steve" Michael Core, 58, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at 4:07pm. He passed away at the Ohio State University Hospital following an extended illness. Steve was born on April 7th, 1966. He was the youngest of five children to the late John and Wanda Core. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Secelia Lee, siblings, Debbie Core, Bruce Core, Beth (Jeff) Carithers, and JP (Colleen) Core, special daughter, Megan Purdin, as well as many nephews and nieces.

On March 23rd, 1985, Steve married the love of his life, Marcy Core and together they had three children, Sara (Jeb) Ludwick, Mandy (Caleb) Clark, and Megan (David) Halcomb. He was the best girl dad ever; there wasn't a fashion show he didn't watch or a hairstyle he wouldn't attempt for his girls. He had many titles but held none dearer than husband, dad, and papaw. Steve was loved and adored by his grandchildren, Jayden, Jackson, Landon, Hadley, Leah, Derek, Makenlee, and Brooks. He never turned down giving the kids a tractor ride, taking a trip to the shop, or snuggling them for nap time. There was never a vision he couldn't turn into a reality, especially if it were for his kids. 

Steve was a longtime member of the Antioch Christian Church and held on to his faith throughout his medical battles. For 20 years, he served as a township trustee, allowing him to remain active in the town he admired so much. 

Friends may call on the family on Thursday, November 7th from 6-8pm in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort on Friday, November 8 at 2:00pm, with Ron Ater officiating.
