Steven L. Holbert, 40, formerly of Bainbridge, Ohio went to be with his Lord Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 9:00pm from the Vineyard Nursing Home in Frankfort, Ohio. He was born December 2, 1972 in Ross County to Jean (Bill) Whitehouse and Ken Kisling.
Steve was a 1991 graduate from Paint Valley High School where he enjoyed playing football. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed being a personal trainer until a skiing accident left him a quadriplegic on March 4, 2003.
He is survived by his parents; a son, Gabriel Holbert, of Chillicothe, OH; brothers Robert Whitehouse, of Lawrenceville, GA and Colton Kisling of Hillsboro, OH; sisters Ann (Holbert) Smith of Bainbridge, OH, Bobbie Jean Whitehouse of Trenton, OH, Melissa Combs and Candace Kisling of Hillsboro, OH; maternal grandparents John and Tiny Holbert of Bainbridge, OH; paternal grandparents, Richard and Martha Whitehouse of Waverly, OH; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Bob Gold.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Holbert, and special aunt, Jane Strausbaugh.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but they are comforted by his faith and belief in God and in knowing that he has a new body now and will be running the streets of gold!
Funeral services will be held at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral home in Bainbridge, Ohio with calling hours 10-12 on Wednesday, July 10 with funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.
