Thomas W. Vickers, 71, of Frankfort, died at 2:50 am on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on August 20, 1952, in Charleston WV, a son of the late Robert Lee and Virginia Hamilton Vickers.
Thomas is survived by one son, Patrick (Kaity) Vickers of Frankfort, six grandchildren, Andrew, Reagan, Charley, Aubrey Vickers, Ally and Jacob Ashcraft, one brother, Steve (Tammy) Vickers of Marmet WV, his former wife and mother of his son, Patti McCollister, close family friend, caregiver, and fiancé, Charlotte Chrisman, her daughters, Christy (Bruce) Barnhart, Shawne (Ron) Alexander, and grandchildren Shyiem, Tazia, and Alexander, Rich (Anne) Stefaniak and grandkids Ashley (Brian), Ronnie (Kaeli), Devon (David), Steven, Taylor, and Ryann.
Thomas was a graduate of East Bank High School, Appalachian Bible College, Andover Newton Theological School, and Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Thomas held a Doctorate degree. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he was a Navy Chaplain. He was a baptist minister, and attended Marmet First Baptist Church in West Virginia.
Thomas led many people to the Lord throughout his life on Earth. He did multiple mission trips and loved Ireland. Thomas also co-wrote a book called Terry, Come Home, that he was very proud of. Thomas loved his family and his grandkids with all of his heart. He was always a voice of reason and love when needed.
A funeral service will be held on at 4pm on Monday, April 22, 2024, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort where military honors will be accorded. In keeping with Thomas' wishes, cremation will follow. Friends are invited to visit with Thomas' family at the funeral home from 2pm until the time of service.
