Timmy Colburn

Timmy Joe "Tim" Colburn, 67, of Chillicothe, died on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 3:39 p.m. in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on Saturday, January 14, 1956, in Ross County, the son of the late Douglas and Ruby Dyke Colburn. On March 9, 1996, he married the former Carla Johnsen.

Tim is survived by his wife, Carla, four children; Timothy (Megan) Colburn and Kimberly Smith, all of Chillicothe, Christian (Tracie) Colburn of Baton Rouge, LA, and Christian Colburn of New York, four grandchildren; Christian M. Colburn, Maria Mathews, Trent Colburn and Dani Colburn and several great grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Downs of Chillicothe, two brothers, Jerry Colburn of Gallipolis and Douglas Colburn of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Edgington.

Tim was a 1974 graduate of Adena High School. He was a Police Officer with the Largo, Florida Police Department for twelve years. He retired as a service technician with Litter Propane following twenty years of service. After retirement, Tim needed something to do so he started with Premier Parking and was a valet at the Adena Regional Medical Center. He recently joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600 of Chillicothe. Over the years, Tim found great pleasure and pride in coaching baseball for his sons and grandson's teams. He was a special person and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The Colburn family wishes to thank the Adena Emergency Department, ICU and the Palliative Care team at Adena for the wonderful care Tim Received.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with his cousin, Chaplain Bruce Hines officiating. Following the service, Tim will be laid to rest beside his father in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit with Tim's family at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
