Viola Madeline Henderson Lightle, known as Vee to her family and friends, passed away on April 20, 2015 at Court House Manor in Washington Court House, Ohio. She spent 87 years on this Earth and was greatly loved throughout her entire life.
Viola was the second daughter born to Dorsey and Marguerite Dubel Henderson. She was born on April 6th in Dayton, Ohio in the year of 1928. After graduating from Chillicothe High School, she attended Ohio University for two years. In 1949 she met her husband-to-be, Leo Martin Lightle. After a courtship of two years the couple was married on April 7, 1951 at St. Peter's Church in Chillicothe Ohio. Their first son, Robert, was born in 1952, followed by their daughter Rebecca in 1954, Bradford in 1956 and David in 1959. During the early years of the marriage, the couple lived in Grove City, Ohio. They then moved to Florida for seven years before returning to Ohio to settle in Frankfort, where Viola was to spend most of the rest of her life. Viola and her husband were avid travelers and enjoyed many domestic and international trips. In 1962 Leo and Viola founded and managed Rocal, Inc. where they worked until their retirement.
Her husband and her son Bradford predecease Viola. She is survived by her children and their spouses. Robert (Patricia) of Washington Court House, Rebecca (David) Ater, David (Dixie) and her daughter-in-law Mary Beth Lightle, all of Frankfort. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Benjamin and Alexandra Lightle, Mary Elizabeth "Lisa" and Mark (Lindsey) Lightle, and Drew and Brock Ater. Her four step-grandchildren are Chris (Stacy) and Ian Coffee, and Seth (Tiffany) and Joan Kellenberger. Her sisters, Marilyn Hessler of Cincinnati and Dorcie (C. William) Jones of Chillicothe, also survive. She was much beloved by her family and friends and will be enormously missed and never forgotten.
Service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 at EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, 55 W. Springfield St., Frankfort OH with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the Lightle family on Friday from 1p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Brad Lightle Memorial Park c/o Village of Frankfort, PO Box 351, Frankfort OH 45628.
