Violet M. (Baker) Taylor, 94, of Greenfield, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. She was born on Sunday, May 4, 1930, in Pike County, the daughter of the late Scott and Stella Yoakem Baker. She was married on June 19, 1948, to her husband of 72 years, Clyde E. Taylor. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2020.

Violet is survived by three children: Sharon Lynn (Wayne) Case of Washington C.H., Vicki Dawn (Dan) Strain of Greenfield, Jonathon David (Dora) Taylor of Nashport, OH, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one sister: Mary Knisley. In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Violet was a member of the Chapel of Hope in Greenfield. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Rev. Roger Newkirk officiating. Following the service, Violet will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clyde, in Greenfield Cemetery. Family and friends can visit on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
