Virginia Hibbs Clouser

Virginia Hibbs Clouser 97, of Greenfield, died at 3:08am, Monday, October 27, 2014 in Hearth and Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield. She was born October 25, 1917 near Peebles, Ohio in Adams County the daughter of the late Marquis D and Cora Thompson Hibbs.
Virginia moved to Ross County in 1938 and married Wilby Clouser on December, 27 1941. They spent their married life together in Lyndon until Wilby's death on May 13, 1988.
She is survived by two nephews: Jamie Tangert of Depew, New York, Dana Clouser of Kettering, Ohio,. four nieces: Ina Koller of Loveland, Ohio, Ima Miller of Chillicothe, Vickie Windle, of Rarden, Ohio, and Karen Sargent of McDermott, Ohio, two special grand-nieces: Shelby Clouser of Kettering and Phoebe Clouser of Columbus, one sister-in-law: Irene Clouser of Wilmington and her close friend Tammy Scarberry of Lyndon.She is preceded in death by three sisters: Vada Butts, Leafie Newman and Jessie Tangert and two brothers; Marquis Hibbs II and William Hibbs.
Virginia graduated in 1935 from Locust Grove High School in Adams County and attended The Ohio University for three years. She was a member of the Pisgah-Mt. Pleasant Federated Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of the women's organizations and was a youth group leader for several years. She was employed by the US Shoe Corporation in Greenfield for 41 years when she retired in 1982. The same year she and Wilby opened the "Times Square" store in Greenfield specializing in antique jewelry, clocks and collectibles. The antiques had been their hobby all their married years.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Friday October 31, 2014 in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Dr. Georgianna Rymer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with the Clouser family on Friday from 11am until the time of the service.
