Wanda Lee Austin

Wanda Lee Austin 90, of Bainbridge passed from this life Sunday, October 23, 2022, at her home. She was born Friday, September 2, 1932, in Highland County the daughter of the late John and Ruth Cook Hodge. On Saturday, December 6, 1952, she married Walter Sam Austin who passed from this life Wednesday, May 15, 1996.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Carroll; grandchildren Shawn Carroll and Casey (Jamie) Drum; great grandchildren Kaylee and Mason Drum; sister-in-law Anna Bakenhaster; and several nieces, nephews and friends including Ron Carroll, Mark and Brad Minney.

In addition to her parents and husband Wanda was preceded in death by her longtime friend Pat Minney; sister Anna Mae Losey; brother Bill Hodge and a sister-in-law Ruthie Austin.

Wanda was a 1950 graduate of Edward Lee McClain and was a beloved waitress for many years. She enjoyed taking walks and shopping; but she loved sun tanning.

The family would like to thank Adena Hospice for the great care Wanda received. Also, a special thanks to her niece Lisa Baxter for helping care for her.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 28, 2022, in the Bainbridge Cemetery with Troy Villars officiating. There will be no calling hours observed.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home.
