Waukera Rumfield, 81, of Canyon Lake, Texas passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015.
She was born to James and Goldie Reaster on July 3, 1934 in Chillicothe, Ohio. Waukera graduated from Twin High School in 1952. A year later she married her high school sweetheart, Roy L. Rumfield on May 9, 1953 in Spargursville, Ohio. While Roy was in the Navy, they were stationed in San Francisco. While in California, Waukera worked for Paramount Films as an administrative secretary. Once Roy was out of the Navy they decided to move back to their home state, Ohio. On April 12, 1968 they ended up moving to Houston, Texas. Waukera began working for Union Texas Petroleum as an administrative secretary. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi for 45 years where she held a master's degree and worked on various projects for the community. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and had a passion for country music and Elvis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Goldie Reaster and daughter, Valerie J. Posey. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Roy L. Rumfield of Canyon Lake, Tx; son, Mark A. Rumfield of Houston, Tx, son-in-law, David Posey of Rockport, Tx; grandchildren, Tony Cain of Rockport, Tx, Michelle Cain of Rockport, Tx, and Amanda Cain of Tyler, Tx; great-grandchildren, Malory Cain, Zaelyn Pulido, Alexis Marie Cain, Robert Cain, and Zane Pulido.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5-8pm at Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00pm at Bourneville Christian Union Church in Bourneville, Ohio. Burial will immediately follow at Twin Township Cemetery.
