Wesley L. Shoemaker

Wesley L. Shoemaker, 84 of Bainbridge died 5:10 am Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Mapleview Manor, Bainbridge. He was born May 13, 1930 in Ross County the son of the late Milton "Bobby" Shoemaker and Gladys Brown Cook. On August 8, 1953 he married Bertie G. Ison Shoemaker who died August 18, 2013.

Surviving are four children, Mike (Bev) Shoemaker of Waverly, Doug (Audrey) Shoemaker of Peebles, Debbie White of Chillicothe and Margaret (Garry) Matthews of Jeffersonville; a son-in-law, Wayne Wagoner of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah Shoemaker, Amanda Horsley, Erica Shoemaker, Ashley Plymire, Brittany Wagoner, Cody White and Adam Matthews; six great grandchildren, Kelcy and Cyrus Horsley, Jenna Shoemaker, Brayden and Zoey Slater and Kylie Plymire; one sister, Charlotte (Bob) Cottrill of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorenda Wagoner; granddaughter, Whitney Wagoner; and three brothers.

Wes was a member of the Beechflats Baptist Church and he was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Wes was a very hard working family provider, who retired from the Chillicothe VA.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Rev. Rich Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ross County Honor Guard. The Shoemaker family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
