Wilbur L. Monroe

Wilbur l. Monroe, 87, of Canton, formerly of Frankfort, died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Canton Regency Care Center, Canton, OH. He was born on March 18, 1928 in Sugar Grove, OH, the son of the late Harvey and Minnie B. Reger Monroe. Wilbur married his beloved wife, the former Eileen Riebel on July 1, 1950 and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2007.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews including Patricia and Lonie Boone, Leisyl Boone and Lindley (Joey) Orlando. Wilbur was the last of his twelve siblings.

Wilbur received an Associate Degree in Marketing and Finance from Ohio University. He retired as an accountant with the Mead Paper Corpration. He was proud of his military service with the 11th Airborne Divisionn of of US Army Air Corps during World War II. Wilbur was a member of the Chillicothe First Presbyterian Church.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the Monroe family at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon to the time of the service.
