Wildith F. “Jean” Stamper, 86, of Frankfort, died at 3:55 p.m., on Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2023, at her home. She was born on Sunday, October 3, 1937, in Scioto County, the daughter of the late Clarence Cook and Philora Isabelle Dutiel. On May 4, 1955, she married Curtis “Bob” Stamper, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2020.
Jean is survived by her three children, Rhonda (Rob) Cheesebrew of Frankfort, Roderick (Carol) Stamper of Frankfort, Kimberly (Larry) Harris of Lithopolis, seven grandchildren, Ryan Cheesebrew, Maribeth Westmoreland, Matthew Harris, Cody Stamper, Jessi Tichenor, Zach Harris, Dr. Clayton Stamper, nine great-grandchildren, Branam, Sophie, Ryder Cheesebrew, Cole, Addie, Harmony Stamper, Braydan, Kelcie Huffman, Matty Harris, one sister-in-law, Imogene Stamper of Roenoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one stillborn son, Rodney Stamper, her stepfather, Hiram Rolfe, her maternal grandparents, Mariann (Floyd) Dutiel, one sister-in-law, Judy Fitch, three uncles, Milford, Alfred, and Clyde Dutiel, one aunt, Susie Cartee, and her close friend and fishing buddy, Helen Burns.
Jean and her husband, Bob, operated Bob’s Sunoco in Frankfort for many years. She loved her family, fishing, traveling, playing canasta, the Ohio Lottery, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Jean enjoyed NASCAR and followed her favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson. She was a very caring and loving person who was always ready to help anyone. Jean was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren.
A graveside service for Jean was held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. She was laid to rest next her husband, Bob. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME served the family. Those wishing to share a memory may do so in Jean's register book.
