William Russell "Russ" Alexander Sr

William R. "Russ" Alexander Sr., 93, of Chillicothe, died at 3:48 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Valley View Alzheimer's Care Center, Frankfort. He was born in Ross County on December 24, 1918, the son of the late Adam and Margaret Cecilia Yoho Alexander. On October 15, 1937 he married the former Mary Bennett who preceded him in death in 1995.

He is survived by one son; William R. Alexander Jr., of Chillicothe, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister; Jean Bumen of Chillicothe, and one brother; Adam Alexander of Whitefish MT. He was preceded in death by two daughters; Mary Katherine "Kitty" Wilson, Ruth Ann Rucker, two sisters; Margie Hartley, Mae Dean, and one brother; Clark Alexander.

Russ founded Alexander Roofing in 1966. He retired from the VA Hospital where he served as a nursing assistant. Russ was a member of the Frankfort Presbyterian Church.

Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Bob Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m..
