William C. "Bill" Greer

William "Bill" C. Greer, 63 of Bainbridge died 8:25 pm Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Pickering House, Lancaster. He was born December 23, 1947 in Floyd County, KY the son of Alka Hackworth Hale and the late Clarence Greer.
In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by three children, William D. (April) Greer of Waverly, Julie Greer Cheadle of Stoutsville and Elaine Greer Rumfield of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Joyce Hensley, Terri Dewalt, Kim Hale, Rosie Helton, Mary Brobst, Kathy Hatcher and Bev Hale; and one brother, Huey Greer.
Bill was predeceased by his father; daughter, Penny Lou Greer and stepfather, Kenny Hale.
He was a 1967 graduate of Piketon High School and Pike County Joint Vocational School, an Army veteran of Veitnam, a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge, member of AMVETS Post 61 of Hillsboro and he was a retired Boiler Operator.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Aaron Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery, Peebles with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 142 Honor Guard of Waverly. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home Thursday. Following the services there will be a gathering of family and friends at the American Legion Post 14, Bainbridge.
