William E. McFadden, Jr., 79, of Greenfield, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 4:49 p.m. at Hearth and Care, Greenfield. He was born March 15, 1936 in Fayette County, the son of the late William E., Sr. and Beulah Hoppes McFadden. On June 10, 1959 he married the former Joyce Haynes who survives.
Also surviving are two children; William E. (Leah) McFadden, III of Washington Court House and Sidney McFadden of Columbus, two grandchildren; William McFadden, IV and Antonia McFadden, one sister; Nancy (Gene) Elliott of Washington Court House, one brother; John McFadden of Greenfield, two brother-in-laws; Dale (Sherry) Haynes and Gary (Sherry) Haynes all of Piketon, one sister-in-law-; Judy (James) Call of Larchmont, New York.
Mr. McFadden was a 1954 graduate of Wayne Township High School in Good Hope, Ohio. He received his B.S and B.A. degree from Rio Grande College and his Master in Secondary Education from Xavier University. Mr. McFadden was director of Guidance Services at McClain High School and was also the advisor for the National Honor Society at McClain. In his 34 years of education he touched the lives of many people. He was proud of all his students and loved following them and their accomplishments throughout their lives. He retired from McClain High School in 1993. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Greenfield, The Good Hope Lions Club, Fayette County Farm Bureau, The Highland County Retired Teachers Association and The Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
Friends may gather at the Greenfield Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 with Danny Dodds officiating. In keeping with Mr. McFadden's wishes, no calling hours will be observed. The ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNEAL HOME, Greenfield is serving the family.
