William A. Rhoads Sr

William A. Rhoads, Sr., 84, of Florence, KY formerly of Greenfield, died at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. He was born on June 21, 1928 in Sinking Springs, OH , the son of the late Walter C. and Phina Hockman Rhoads. On April 24, 1948 he married the former Phyllis Jean Kerns and she survives.

Also surviving are three children; William A. (Bid) Rhoads, Jr. of South Salem, Sharon (Steve) Weaver of Florence, Ky, David (Lois) Rhoads of East Liberty, OH, eight grandchildren; William Rhoads III, Roslynn Liggett, Jesse Rhoads, Brandi Stone, Noel Johnson, Sierra Bosse, Dusty Rhoads, Dawn Shepardson, sixteen great grandchildren and his best friend, Jimmy Walker of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Lawrence, Robert, Cliff, Harley and Mark.

Bill was a truck driver where he was an owner/operator for many years. He was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ and the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday November 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Greenfield Church of Christ with Bill Requardt officiating. Burial will follow in South Salem Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. Calling hours will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of the service.
