William D. "Bill" Wilson

William D. Wilson, 91, of Greenfield, died Sunday evening January 18, 2015 at Hearth and Care at Greenfield. He was born in Highland County on June 15, 1923, the son of the late Earl A. and Edith L. Zimmerman Wilson. On June 10, 1945 he married the former Betty Louise May and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2006.
He is survived by two daughters; Marlene (Mathew) Mellis of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Darlene (Lee) Karnes of Greenfield, two sons; Dwight E. Wilson of Payson, AZ, Joseph E. Wilson (Mary) of Miamisburg, Ohio, Judy Smith-Wilson of Arizona, nine grandchildren; Daron Wilson, Melissa Camilleri, Renee Lamb, Mary Jo Mikesell, Amanda Bilindiro, Rachel Thomas, Will Karnes, Dr. Rebecca Molina and Michael Mellis, as well as seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death one brother; Earl Parker Wilson and one sister; Ruthanna Easter.
Bill was a 1942 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He retired from the cutting room at the US Shoe Corporation of Greenfield where he stopped punching the clock in 1989. Following his retirement, he loved working as a handy man in the community. He attended Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24 at 10:30AM in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with Bill's family on Saturday morning from 9am until the time of service.
