Wilma Jane McCauley

Wilma Jane McCauley 74 of Waverly formerly of Bainbridge passed from this life 7:28 am Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at her home. She was born Sunday, June 6, 1949, in Chillicothe the daughter of the late Frank Q. and Melba (Taylor) Tackett. On September 10, 1993, she married Ray H. McCauley who passed from this life Friday, March 20, 2020.

She is survived by 4 children Carla (Tim) Cutlip, Richard Harris, Charles (Kim) Harris and James (Rhonda) Gibbs along with 11 stepchildren. Wilma is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Frank Allen (Sally) Tackett of Texas and Roger (Ruth) Tackett of Gahanna; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Lori Teeters.

In addition to her parents and husband Wilma was preceded in death by a grandson, a great granddaughter and sister.

Wilma worked many years at Highland District hospital, and she enjoyed reading and crocheting. She also attended the Rainsboro Church of Christ.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Courtney, Tabby, Susan and the rest of the ProMedica hospice team for their care and compassion throughout her journey. 

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Rev. David Marhoover officiating. Following the service Wilma will be laid to rest with her husband in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 pm until the time of service on Tuesday.
