Winona M. "Nonie" Graham, 81, of Frankfort, was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday May 18, 2012 at 11:24 a.m., surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with liver and breast cancers. She was born on October 5, 1930 in Pike County, to the late Purl and Amanda Claytor Brown. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1949 and then on June 5 of that same year she married the love of her life, Leon E. Graham, who preceded her in death on February 6, 1993.
Winona is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Gary Schaffer and Diana and Paul "Rick" Edler, all of Frankfort, grandchildren, Jeremy Graham and partner Sean Cooper, Ryan Graham and friend Lisa Griesheimer, Matthew Edler and fiancAC.' Emily Breth, Hope Edler and fiancAC.' Cheyenne Elliott, and Holly Edler and fiancAC.' Jeremy Schobelock, great-grandchildren, Clayton Edler, Jenna and Justin Schobelock, brother Purl (Nancy) Brown, sisters, Mary Flesher, Virginia (Kenneth) Crago, Donna (Mervin) Crago, Marge Adams, Katherine (Berlin) Butterbaugh, Linda (Marvin) Seymour, along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Amanda Mitchell and Johnathan Cokonougher. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Marie Edler and brothers, Horace, Robert, Ernest and Norman Brown.
Winona loved her family with all her heart and her legacy will carry on through each of them. A member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, Winona was also a talented seamstress and wonderful cook, but her biggest joy was taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our Mother was a wonderful role model! Nonie was a 4-H advisor for the Frankfort Rough Riders and served on the 4-H advisory board. Special thanks to Adena Hospice and to her loving daughter Jennifer for taking such amazing care of our Mother.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in the Frankfort United Methodist Church with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m..
